- Stabbed by the cave troll.

- Almost caught outside Minas Morgul (saved by magic cloak).
- Faces down a Nazgul at Osgiliath.
- Bitten by Shelob.
- Attacked by Gollum outside Mount Doom.
- The cliffhanger inside Mount Doom, after losing finger.
- In danger from lava flows.
